Eugenia “Jeanie” Mehringer, 90

Eugenia “Jeanie” Mehringer, 90, of Ireland passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.
Jeanie was born on June 27, 1925 in Ireland, Indiana to Robert and Alice (Renner) Sermersheim. She married Marvin H. Mehringer on August 27, 1946 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1982.
She was a homemaker and retired from the deli department at Buehler’s IGA. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland and their St. Ann’s Society. She was a member of the VFW Post #673 Auxiliary.
She enjoyed cooking, flowers, and spending time with friends and family.
She is survived by five daughters, Patty Beck and husband Dennis of Velpen, Donna Slade of Roswell, Ga., Connie Gutzweiler and husband Joe of Roswell, Ga., Karen Neuhoff and husband Tom of Huntingburg and Deborah Mehringer of Jasper; five sons, Larry Mehringer and wife Kathy of Jasper, Steve Mehringer and wife Paula of Roswell, Ga., Duane Mehringer of Jasper, Mark Mehringer of Jasper and Kurt Mehringer of Jasper; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one Sister, Marian Lynch and husband James of Jeffersonville.
Preceding her in death beside her husband was one sister Mrs. Linus (Helen) Humbert, and one son-in-law, Dean Slade.
Funeral services for Eugenia “Jeanie” Mehringer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, IN. The St. Mary’s St. Ann’s Society will pray the rosary at 3:45 p.m.
