Eugene Vernon Heidorn, 85, Boonville

Eugene Vernon Heidorn, 85, of Boonville, Indiana passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at his home.

Eugene was born in Huntingburg to the late Arthur and Thelma (Gentry) Heidorn.

Eugene had retired from ALCOA. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War and was a member of the Boonville V.F.W. 3418. He was a graduate of Selvin High School. In his earlier years, he raced drag cars.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jolena Taylor; brother, Elwood Heidorn and numerous sister and brothers-in-law.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Nix) Heidorn; son, Cliff Heidorn and his wife, Tonya; son in law, Greg Taylor; grandchildren, Michelle Wilson, Taylor Berry and her husband, Nick; Eric Heidorn and his wife, Erika; Justin Heidorn; great-grandchild, Callie Wilson; sisters-in-law, Wendy Heidorn, Jackie (Bob) Libbert and Lois Phillips, uncle, John Gentry; and aunt, Betty (Gentry) Beck.

Services are 10 a.m. CDT Monday, October 15, 2018, at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, Indiana. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

The Warrick County Veterans Memorial Service will conduct military honors.

Visitation is from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at the funeral home.
