Eugene Herbert Keller, 84, Mooresville, Ind.

Eugene Herbert Keller, 84, of Mooresville, Ind., passed away at 11:50 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2024.

Eugene was born in Shoals, Indiana, on November 9, 1939. 

Eugene graduated from Dubois High School in 1957. He served in the Army National Guard and was a strong union man, retiring in 1993 from UAW Local Union 933 after more than 27 years of service. He was a lifelong member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church. Eugene enjoyed watching basketball at all levels, always supporting Indiana’s home teams. Purdue basketball was his favorite.

Eugene is survived by one son, Craig (Heather of Camby Ind.; one daughter, DeAnn Head (Bill), also of Camby, Ind.; his two grandchildren, KylieAnn Keller and Michael Head; brother, Kenneth (Sharon) of Jasper; sister, Doris Salmon of Dubois; along with nieces and nephews in the Dubois County area.

Eugene was preceded in death by his son, Brian Keller; his parents, Willow and Helena Keller (Schwindt); his brother, Darrell; and his sister, Darlene.

Eugene’s family wishes to thank Affinity Palliative and Hospice Care, along with Meadow Lakes Senior Living Community, for their care and support.

A viewing will be held Friday, April 5, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. with services beginning at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Tim Holt. All activities will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 556 Haysville Rd, Jasper, Indiana. Burial will immediately follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church cemetery. The V.F.W. Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.
