Eugene Heeke, 80
Eugene Heeke, age 80 of Dubois, passed away at 10:10 p.m. Monday (April 2, 2012) at Memorial Hospital in Jasper.
He was born August 12, 1931 in Dubois to Theodore and Clara (Theising) Heeke. He married Geraldine Denu on April 21, 1956 in St Raphael Catholic Church.
Eugene was a farmer for many years, and drove bus for the Northeast Dubois School Corporation. He retired from Wabash Valley Produce in Dubois.
Eugene was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean war. He was a member of St Raphael Catholic Church in Dubois, American Legion Post 147, Dubois Community Club, and the Dubois Jaycees.
His hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing, and coaching youth baseball.

Preceding him in death is one son, Valery Heeke, and two brothers, Dennis and Herman Heeke,
Funeral services for Eugene Heeke will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday (April 10, 2012) at St Raphael Catholic Church in Dubois, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. American Legion Post #147 will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call from 2:00p.m.-8:00 p.m., Monday (April 9, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
