Eugene “Gene” Gadlage, 74
Eugene “Gene” Gadlage, age 74 of Jasper passed away at 1:45 p.m. Monday (September 5, 2011) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 5, 1936 to Herman and Anna Hoffman Gadlage. He married Margaret (Marge) Rowekamp on August 30,1958 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
Gene was a U.S. Navy Veteran and had worked for Jasper Chamber of Commerce and was a truck driver for Jack Newton Gulf Oil Company.
He retired from Sten’s Corporation in Jasper and also worked at St. Vincent’s DePaul Society in Jasper.
He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church – Jasper High School Class of 1954 – – American Legion Post # 147 and the Schnellville Conservation Club.

- Two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Ann) Neely, Jasper, IN and Mrs. Eric (Sharon) Leinenbach, Bretzville, IN
- One son, Greg Gadlage and spouse Nicky, Jasper, IN
- Four grandchildren , Amy Mehringer, Ryan Taylor and Lacie Gadlage, Taylor Leinenbach. and three great grandchildren.
- One brother, Richard Gadlage and spouse Pat, Jasper, IN
- One sister, Mrs. Jim (JoAnn) Mundy, Huntingburg, IN
Preceding him in death is one brother Charles Gadlage.
Funeral services for Gene Gadlage will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday (September 9, 2011) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with entombment in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. American Legion Post # 147 will conduct military grave side rites.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday (September 8, 2011) at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
