Eugene "Bud" Denning

Eugene “Bud” Denning, age 79, of Huntingburg, passed away at 2:50 a.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at his residence.

He was born June 12, 1932 in Dubois County, Indiana to August and Gertrude (Reuber) Denning. He was united in marriage to Norma Miller on January 20, 1965 in Huntingburg. Bud retired from Dubois Wood Products and enjoyed fishing in his time off. He was a member of: St. Mary’s Catholic Church; the Fraternal Order of Eagles; and was a lifetime member of the Huntingburg V.F.W. Post #2366, Jasper American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by: one son, Kenny “Tree” Merrimon; four brothers- Paul Hoffman, Joe Hoffman, Glen Hoffman, and Kenny Hoffman; and one grandson, Heath Merrimon.

Funeral services for Eugene “Bud” Denning will be held at 10:00 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery (Huntingburg). The V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Friday. A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday afternoon, along with a Disabled American Veterans memorial service at 6:00 p.m., Friday evening, at the funeral home.
