Ethel Mae Raney, 70, Jasper

Ethel Mae Raney, 70, Jasper, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016, in Jewish Hospital, Louisville, Ky.

She was born in Boone Township to Elmer and Myrtle (Schnarr) Haycox. She married Roy Gene Raney on July 1, 1967 at the Alfordsville Methodist Church.

She was a graduate of Ireland High School and Indiana Business College at Vincennes, Indiana.

Ethel Mae retired from Crane Naval Weapons Systems where she had worked for many years. She was a member of Alfordsville Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Gene Raney; one son, Jeff Raney and wife Elizabeth of Alfordsville; two grandsons, Nicholas, and Zachary; two sisters, Anna Hedrick of Washington and Hazel Whitney and husband Ish of Mooresville, Ind.; two brothers, George William Haycox of Jasper and Jim Haycox of Speedway, Ind.

She was preceded in death by one sister Marie Kamplain.

Funeral services for Ethel Mae Raney will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel with burial to follow in the Portersville Cemetery. The Rev. Marvin Arvin and the Rev. Alfred Helms will officiate.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, (September 1, 2016) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
