Esther LaJune Kendall, 98, Huntingburg

Esther LaJune Kendall, 98, of Huntingburg, passed away at 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at The Waters of Huntingburg.

She was born in Birdseye, Indiana on September 24, 1920, to Orville R. and Iva (Throop) Faulkner. She married Theodore R. “Ted” Kendall on October 5, 1938, in Huntingburg. 

Esther was a lifelong believer of the Christian Pentecostal faith. In addition to being an excellent homemaker, mother, grandmother, counselor and friend, she was a true inspiration to all those around her. For many years, she assisted and supported her late husband, Theodore R. Kendall, in the stewardship and pastoral duties of his Christian ministry. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, on October 14, 1993; one daughter, Mary Jean (Kendall) Masterson; three sisters, Mildred Stilwell, Opal Hale and Hazel Grooms; a brother, Robert Faulkner, by four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Esther is survived by one son, Terry Wayne (Michaela) Kendall of Huntingburg; two daughters, Frieda (Arthur) Ross of Huntingburg and Marsha (Roger) Stutsman of Huntingburg; by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Esther Kendall will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye, Indiana. The service will be officiated by Brother Charlie Lawson, Brother Charles Collins and Brother Jeremiah Pitts.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, and also from noon to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
