Erwin F. Seifert, 92

Erwin F. Seifert, 92, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2015, at his home.
Erwin was born on January 4, 1923 in Dale Indiana to Paul and Scholastica (Bredhold) Seifert. He married Florence Schroeder on October 7, 1947 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
Erwin retired as a service manager from the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Jasper. He served as a seaman first class in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, a life member of the V.F.W. Post #673, and the American Legion Post #147.
He is survived by his wife, Florence E. Seifert; five daughters, Donna Humbert and her husband Mike, Diane Manley and her husband Kevin, Doris Erny and her husband Mike, Darlene Mehringer and her husband Alan, and Lois Rohleder and her husband Doug; four sons, Dennis Seifert and his wife Marie, Bob Seifert, Duane Seifert and his wife Tara, and Dean Seifert and his wife Mona, all of Jasper; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were sisters, Virginia Boehm, Dorothy Boehm, and Cordella Seifert; brothers, Ralph Seifert and Bill Seifert; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Seifert.
Funeral services for Erwin Seifert will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. The V.F.W. Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
