Emmett W. Wiseman, 68

Emmett W. Wiseman, age 68, of Birdseye, Indiana, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
He was born January 28, 1944 in Jasper, Indiana to William “Bud” and Mary Jo (Warthan) Wiseman. He was married to Diane Borden on October 24, 1964 at the Birdseye Christian Church in Birdseye. Emmett graduated from the English Sterling High School’s Class of 1960; was a retired truck driver; was currently serving as the Birdseye Town Board President and as a member of the Dubois County Contractual Library Board; was a member of the Birdseye Christian Church where he was an Elder, the Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #574 F&AM where he was Lodge Master, the Birdseye Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #590 where he was Chaplain, the St. Anthony American Legion Post #493, and was a life member of the Birdseye Conservation Club. Emmett served in the United States Army National Guard, from 1964-1970, in Company C First Battalion of the 152nd Infantry Division. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, William Wiseman; and one sister, Patricia Volz.

and (5) grandchildren,
Grandsons: Jonathan Wiseman, Elliott Wiseman, Jaron Wiseman; Granddaughter: Jordyn Wiseman; and Step Granddaughter: Paige Borden – all of Birdseye.
Funeral services for Emmett W. Wiseman will be held at 2:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at the Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye. The St. Anthony American Legion Post #493 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites. Pastor Ron Hickman will officiate the funeral services.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday; and the following day from 12:00-2:00 p.m., Wednesday. The Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #574 F&AM will hold a memorial service at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday evening, at the funeral home.
