Emma “Janie” Jane (Becher) Ramsey, 88, Evansville

Emma “Janie” Jane (Becher) Ramsey, 88, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at River Pointe Health Campus.

Janie was born in Louisville, Ky., on October 24, 1935, to the late Sylvester “Jack” and Elfrida “Fritz” (Meyer) Becher.

She was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Janie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Franklin “Lee” Ramsey of Evansville; daughter, Amy Baize (Dion) of Evansville; son, Michael “Mike” Lee Ramsey (Blaza) of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; brother; George Becher (Judy) of Huntingburg; grandchildren, Emmalee Stevens (Nick), Kirsten Wilson, Daylan ElNaamani (Mohammed); and Brandon Ramsey; and by her great-grandchildren, Vida and Hayaat.

Janie was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Jane Ramsey; by her parents; sister, Rita Ann Gasser; and by her brother, David J. Becher.

Private services will be held at Browning Funeral Home. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
