Emil Fred Maier, 87, Velpen

Emil Fred Maier, 87, of Velpen, died on Oct. 31, as result of an automobile accident.

Emil enjoyed fishing and spending time at the casino, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his three children, Fred (Cindy) Maier, Jeanette (Joe) Maier-Lytle and Kenny Maier; a brother John and sister Tillie; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two children in infancy, his longtime companion, Shirley Haas; a sister, Theresa; and brother, August.

Private services will be at a later date.
