Emerging Leaders makes final grant; ends six-year run giving $30,000 back to community
Dubois County Emerging Leaders has selected Girls on the Run as its 2017 grant recipient.
Girls on the Run is a nonprofit dedicated to a positive youth development program that uses an experience-based curriculum and creatively integrates running for girls in third through fifth grade.
The $3,000 grant will be the final grant from the Emerging Leaders as the giving circle will conclude after six years.
“We feel the objectives we set forth with Emerging Leaders have been met and are proud of the impact it had on the community the past six years, including this year’s grant recipient, Girls on the Run,” said Clayton Boyles, executive director of the Community Foundation. “Not only has over $30,000 been granted back to local nonprofits, hundreds of individuals have engaged in philanthropy and gained a deeper understanding of the nonprofit sector. That’s something to be celebrated.”
