Ema Lou Line, 88, Hillham

Ema Lou Line, 88, of Hillham, Indiana, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loved ones on August 11, 2023, at her residence.

She was born in Shoals, Indiana, on December 20, 1934, to Lawrence and Maude (Sherfick) Sorrells.

Ema Lou married William K. Line on September 2, 1950, and he preceded her in death on August 11, 1974.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Timothy Line; daughters, Brenda Line and Lynn Raney; grandchildren, Jacob Line and Stephen Jones; brothers, Wilson and Lyle, in infancy, Charles, Sidney, Lawrence, Loren; sisters, Beverly Tow, Norma Collins and Nina Hagen.

Ema Lou attended Shoals High School and retired from French Lick Resort at the Pete Dye Golf Course, where she worked as a cook.

She enjoyed cooking, and reading (her favorites were John Grisham and James Patterson), and especially loved being with and taking care of her family. 

Ema Lou is survived by her sons, Norman Line of French Lick and Kelly Line of French Lick; daughter, Theresa Jones (Stephan) of French Lick; sister, Alice Boyd of Shoals; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews

A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor John Moffatt on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
