Elza Edward Quinn, 81, Hillham

Elza Edward Quinn, 81, Hillham, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at his residence.
He was born in Martin County on Oct. 26, 1935, to Roy and Hazel (Qualkenbush) Quinn. He married Patsy Hallaway on Dec. 25, 1953.
Mr. Quinn retired from Coastal Corporation Pipeline in 1996 after 29 years. He was caretaker and treasurer of Emmons Ridge Cemetery for more than five years. He was a 1953 graduate of Shoals High School, where he was valedictorian and captain of the varsity basketball team. He was an avid golfer and won several tournaments in the tri-state area.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Quinn; three sons, Roger (Ann) Quinn and Joseph (Michele) Quinn, both of Loogootee, and Brian (Marsha) Quinn of Roland; a daughter, Kathy Kalb of Hillham; a sister, Carol (Gary) Moffatt of Hillham; a sister-in-law, Joette Quinn of Crystal; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Quinn.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at T. L. Pinnick Chapel in French Lick. Rev. Brian Harrison will officiate. Burial will be in Emmons Ridge Cemetery near Hillham. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and after noon Monday at the funeral home.
