Elvis George King, 80

Elvis George King, age 80, a resident of the Providence Home Health Care Center in Jasper, formerly of Birdseye, Indiana, passed away at 7:45 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born November 4, 1933 in Birdseye, Indiana to Clovie and Bertha Elizabeth (Deel) King. Elvis graduated top of his class at Birdseye High School and attended Oakland City College. He later worked at the Jasper Glove Company and attended the Birdseye First Pentecostal Church where he gave his heart to the Lord.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; one sister, Olive King; one brother, Jerald King; one nephew, Rodney Julian; and one niece, Cheryl King.

He is survived by two sisters, Wilma Julian of Birdseye, and Phyllis O’Connor of Greenfield, Ind.; one brother, Gerald Wayne King of Indianapolis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Elvis George King will be held at 2:00 p.m., EST, on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye. Pastor Bret Eckert will officiate at the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 12:00 noon-2:00 p.m., on Friday, the day of the funeral.
