Elsie M. Burress, 84

Elsie M. Burress, age 84, of Ferdinand, formerly of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 4:45 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2012 at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

She was born January 4, 1928 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robert and Gladys (Harvey) Bishop. Elsie worked at both Swift and Farbest Foods. She was a member of the 7th Day Adventists; and enjoyed traveling on road trips.

She was preceded in death by: three daughters – Viana Stephens, Crystal Honaker and her daughter Margaret who died at birth; and three sisters – Mary Bishop, Faye Vaughn and Essie Cross.

She is survived by:

One daughter,

Lela Moore – Huntingburg, IN

One son

Eddie Burress – Huntingburg, IN

One brother,

Earl Bishop – Indianapolis, IN

One sister,

Roberta Barton – MN

and several grandchildren.

Funeral services for Elsie M. Burress will be held at 11:00 a.m., (E.S.T.), on Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church Cemetery near Loogootee. Pastor Justin Childers will officiate the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Monday morning, prior to the funeral.
