Elmer J. Knies, age 83, Celestine, Indiana passed away 9:19 p.m. Thursday (October 25, 2012) at his home.
He was born at Celestine, Indiana July 5, 1929 to Anton Knies Sr. and Catherine Humbert Knies. He married Imogene Schnell October 11, 1951.
Elmer was a retired farmer in the Celestine Community and heavy equipment operator.
He is a member of St. Celestine Catholic Church, Celestine Community Club, and the Schnellville conservation Club.

Preceding him in death are two sons, Scott J. Knies and Michael L. Knies. One sister, Clara Mae Knies and four brothers, Leo Knies died in infancy, Eugene Knies, Anthony Jr. Knies and Gary Knies.
Funeral service for Elmer Knies will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday October 29, 2012) in St. Celestine Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Celestine Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at church.
