Elmer “Bill” Wolf Jr., 74, Dubois

Elmer “Bill” Wolf Jr., 74, of Dubois, passed away surrounded by family at 7:37 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Serenity Springs at Northwood in Jasper.

Elmer was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on June 30, 1951, to Elmer and Ella (Hemmerlein) Wolf.  He married Brenda Matthews on May 5, 1973, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.  She preceded him in death on March 20, 2015.

He was a graduate of Dubois High School.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Army National Guard.

He retired from Jasper Desk, where he had worked for 48 years.

Elmer was a member of St. Isidore Parish-St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois.

He enjoyed gardening, farming, fishing, sports, including baseball and basketball, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Indiana Pacers and Cincinnati Reds fan.

He is survived by four sons, Chris Wolf, and fiancé, Erica Meeks, of San Tan Valley, Ariz., Rodney (Melissa) Wolf of Dubois, Philip (Karrie) Wolf of St. Anthony and Dustin (Jennifer) Wolf of Celestine; eight grandchildren, Mikayla, Kaden, Kylen, Spenser, Reece, Parker, Landry, and Rilynn, two sisters, Marlene (Vic) Fuhrman of Loogootee and Rosie Hoffman of Haysville; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death, besides his wife, are four sisters, Esther Fuhrman, Alice Wiseman, Dorothy Lind and Gladys Wolf, and an infant brother, John Wolf.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Elmer “Bill” Wolf Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The American Legion #147 will conduct military graveside rites.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.
