Ellen Louise Meyer, 88

Ellen Louise Meyer passed away Monday morning, Dec. 2, 2013, at age 88.
Ellen was a life-long resident of Holland, Indiana, except for the past four years when she moved to Evansville and Newburgh because of declining health.
Ellen was the oldest child of Willard and Regina Hunefeld.
She is survived by her son Greg Meyer and his wife, Sue, of Evansville and her sisters, Marian Meyer and Marjorie Kaiser. Ellen is also survived by sisters-in-law Janet Green Norris and Carolyn Kamman and many nieces and nephews, and by her “Hunefeld cousins”.
Glenn Meyer, her husband of 49 years, preceded her in death in 2000.
Ellen was a member of Holland United Methodist Church from birth till death, and served the church in many capacities including youth Sunday school teacher for more than 60 years.
As owner and operator of Klassy Kurl Beauty Shoppe, Ellen served her customers in the Holland community for 64 years, during which time she enjoyed the company of several younger beauticians including Dorothy Rothert, Donna Kemper Wetzel, and especially Tammy Butcher who held a special place in her heart.
Ellen and her family appreciated the tender and loving care she received from the staff at Newburgh Healthcare Center and from Dr. Steve Elliott and his staff.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., EST, on Thursday, December 5th at Holland United Methodist Church with Ellen’s nephew, Reverend Joe Kamman, officiating. The service will be followed by burial next to Glenn in the Holland United Methodist Cemetery.
Friends and family may visit from 2:00-8:00 p.m., EST, on Wednesday, December 4th at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg; and also from 10:00 a.m., EST, on Thursday until service time at the church in Holland.
