Elizabeth Joan Blesch, 89, Zionsville

Elizabeth Joan Blesch, 89, of Zionsville, formerly of Holland, passed away at 1:42 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born September 10, 1926, in Dale, Indiana to John and Minerva (Jones) Heichelbech. She was a member of the Dale High School Class of 1944 and a graduate of Lockyear Business College. Betty married Jerome W. Blesch on May 6, 1950, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

She was a homemaker and assisted Jerome with the office work at Blesch Brothers, Inc. in Holland. Betty loved crossword puzzles and was a member of the Holland United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald E. Blesch; one brother, Frank Heichelbech; and three sisters, Marguerite Richardson, Eunice Knott, and Dorothy Fischer.

She is survived by her husband, Jerome W. Blesch of Zionsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara (Lonnie) Shafer of Zionsville; and two grandsons, David B. Shafer of Chicago, Illinois and Evan W. Shafer of Cleveland, Ohio.

Funeral services for Elizabeth Blesch will be held at 10:00 a.m. EST Saturday, March 26, 2016, at the Holland United Methodist Church in Holland with burial to follow at the Holland United Methodist Cemetery. Pastor Keith Chanley will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and also at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
