Elizabeth Clare “Betty” Keller, 90, Louisville

Elizabeth Clare “Betty” Keller, 90, Louisville, passed away at 11 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2016 in Louisville.
She was born in Jasper on June 16, 1925, to Sylvester and Minnie Berger. She married Dennis Keller on Feb. 12, 1947. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Keller was a graduate of Jasper High School and served as deputy clerk of Dubois County. She retired in 1990 after 21 years in the payroll tax department for the City of Owensboro. She enjoyed reading, gardening and quilting. She quilted more than 60 quilts and donated them to her former parish, Blessed Mother Catholic Church in Owensboro, Ky., where she also volunteered as an office assistant. She then became a member of the Church of the Epiphany in Louisville.
Surviving are six daughters, Beverly (Ron) Thurmond, Margaret (Rich) Bowen, Ann (Todd) Bailey, Charlotte (Ron) Kieffner, Kathleen (Bruce) Sauer and Denise Ritter; a son, Tony (Julie) Keller; a brother, Billie Berger of Muncie; a sister, Margaret Holler of Terre Haute; 12 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Odilo, Tony and James Berger, and three sisters, Helen Bath, Anna Marie Otto and Mary Catherine Gilliam.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Church of the Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Road, Louisville, Ky. Private burial will follow.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Ky. A rosary service will be held at 4 p.m.
