Elizabeth “Betty Jo” Salb, 91, Jasper

Elizabeth “Betty Jo” Salb, 91, Jasper, passed at 8:06 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

Betty Jo was born in Jasper, Indiana, on August 20, 1924 to O.A. and Agnes “Kirwer” Kremp. She married Earl “Bud” Salb on June 13, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1988.

Betty Jo was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the St. Ann’s Society, Jasper D of I, O.L.G.A. (Old Ladies Golf Association), Tri Kappa and Panhellenic Sororities. She enjoyed golf, tennis, traveling, walking and spending her winters in Florida.

She is survived by five daughters, Barbara Gutgsell and husband Bob of Jasper, Linda Burke and husband Chuck of Jasper, Pat Hinkle and husband Andy of Columbus, Ohio, Sara DeMuth and husband Bob of Lexington, Ky. and
Martha Wiemerslage and husband Greg of Lombard, Ill.; two sons, Greg Salb of Jasper and Gary Salb and his wife Nancy of Ireland; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, besides her husband, was one sister Doris Schneider and infant daughter Carol Margaret Salb.

Funeral services for Betty Jo Salb will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, Alzheimer Association, or to a favorite charity.
