Elizabeth “Betty” Jenkins, 85

Elizabeth “Betty” Jenkins, age 85, of Dale, Indiana, passed away at 2:40 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2013, at her residence.

She was born July 6, 1928 in Covington, Kentucky to Richard Armstrong and Laura (Volz) Armstrong Kunkler. She married Eldon C. Jenkins on March 27, 1947 in Madisonville, Kentucky. Betty was an original owner/operator, along with her husband, of Jenkins Greenhouses & Farms and was a member of the Dale American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Eldon C. Jenkins, who died in 1991; two brothers, Joseph Armstrong and Edward Armstrong; and one sister, Mildred Meyer.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Darrel (spouse: Betty) Jenkins, of Dale, IN; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Jim Ranger, of Dale, IN; two sisters, Catherine Schaefer, of St. Meinrad, IN, Irene (spouse: Jim) Seitz, of Jasper, IN; brother-in-law, Jim Meyer of Huntingburg, IN; four grandchildren, Michael Jenkins, of Aurora, IN, Daniel Jenkins, of Dale, IN, Josh Jenkins, of Little Rock, AK, and Tara Ramsey, of Holland, IN; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Elizabeth “Betty” Jenkins will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Dale Cemetery in Dale, Indiana. Rev. Charlotte Lee will officiate at the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Thursday.
