Elizabeth A. “Libby” Perkins, 85, West Baden Springs

Elizabeth A. “Libby” Perkins, 85, of West Baden Springs, entered into eternal rest on June 28, 2026, at her residence.

She was born at home in Orangeville, Ind., on February 2, 1941, to Theodore and Geneva (Hicks) Qualkinbush.

Libby married William “Perk” Perkins on December 30, 1960, and he preceded her in death on September 8, 2019.

Libby was a 1960 graduate of Springs Valley High School and a faithful member of the Springs Valley Church of the Nazarene. She considered them her extended family, and they loved and cared for her like a family member.

After graduation, Libby opened her own restaurant in Paoli (Libby’s) where she met her husband.

She then was a stay-at-home mom raising her children on Charles Street.

After her children were grown, she worked as a cook at G&E’s Restaurant until 1986, when she began caring for her parents.

After her parents’ passing, she started working for Older Americans as a home health care worker. During that time, she cared for over 70 patients.

When she retired, she spent time with grandchildren and great-grands, sitting on her porch visiting, watching birds, working in her yard, and caring for her flowers. Libby enjoyed daily calls from her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepdad, William “Charlie” Quakenbush; brothers, George Qualkinbush, Raymond Qualkinbush, Robert “Gene” Chriswell, and an infant brother at birth; son, William “Chip” Perkins; grandson, Spencer Hoffman; and daughter-in-law, Kerri Perkins.

Libby is survived by her son, Troy Perkins (Van); daughter, Jane Hoffman (Brook); daughter-in-law, Tammy Perkins; grandchildren, Charlotte McCalip (Brian), Randy Perkins (Niki), Nathan Perkins (Brooke), Jeremiah Perkins (Tanessa), Kayla Hopf (Brandon) and Samuel Perkins (Taylor); 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

A Funeral Ceremony will be conducted by Pastor Barry Groh at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Brosmer-Kemple Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.

Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Springs Valley Church of the Nazarene, 763 S. Bears Bend Road, French Lick, IN 47432.
