Elinor Joyce Hensley, 83

Elinor Joyce Hensley, 83, of Dale, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Memorial Hospital & Healthcare Center.

She was born in Albion, Ill., on June 14, 1931 to Norman and Helen (Spruell) Kelley. She married Jerry Lee Hensley of Dale on September 30, 1951.

Mrs. Hensley was a homemaker and a farmer. She loved flowers and nature.

She is survived by a daughter Lorrie DeAnn Miller and husband Gregg of Huntingburg; son Donny Lee Hensley and wife Debby of Huntingburg; two sisters, Ruth Mason of San Andreas, Cali. and Peggi Hebnor of Newburgh; grandchildren, Geri Sivori, Zak Hensley, Izek Hensley and Shawn Hensley; great grandchildren, Josh, Julian, Kane, Oliver, Jackalyn and Waylon; several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Lee in 1998; son Danny Joe Hensley in 1999; brothers, Gary and Johnny Ray; and sisters Norma Cummings and Phyllis Lester.

A private graveside service was held on April 7, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery west of Dale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society in Jasper.
