Elayne J. Schneider, 61

Elayne J. Schneider, age 61, of Birdseye, Indiana, passed away Sunday evening, October 30, 2011 at her residence.

She was born May 19, 1950 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Everett Burns “George” and Opal Fay (Albin) Oxley. She was united in marriage to Allen J. Schneider on September 1, 1973 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church. Elayne was employed as the office administrator for Edward Jones in Huntingburg. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Allen J. Schneider, who died December 11, 1988; and both her parents.

She is survived by:

One daughter and son-in-law: Tiffany (spouse: Clayton) Wirtz – Washington, DC,

One son: Jake Schneider – Austin, Texas,

Two sisters: Evonne Schmitt – St. Anthony, IN and Holly Sattler – Holland, IN

Three brothers: Kevin Oxley – Corydon, IN,  Evan Oxley – Eckerty, IN, and Robert Oxley – Santa Claus, IN.

Funeral services for Elayne J. Schneider will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in St. Anthony, Indiana. Cremation will take place following the funeral mass and her cremains will be interred at St. Anthony Cemetery during a private committal service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-7:00 p.m., Friday. A parish rosary prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday evening, at the funeral home.
