Elaine F. Gard, 86

Elaine F. Gard, age 86, a resident of the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, formerly of Huntingburg, passed away at 9:48 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Northwood Retirement Community.

She was born September 30, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Frank and Agnes (Edwards) Dorsch. Elaine was a homemaker and a member of the Jasper Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Russell Gard who died March 14, 1985; and one sister, Eleanor Carr.

She is survived by:

One daughter, Barbara Diane Gibbs – Evansville, IN

One son, Russell Allan Gard – Fairview Heights, IL

by (5) grandchildren, including Ron Dunning of Jasper who assisted locally with his grandmother’s care, and (4) great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Elaine F. Gard will be held at 12:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with interment of her cremains to follow in Mayo Cemetery near Duff.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Tuesday, the day of the services.
