Edwin Charles Schilling, 66

Edwin Charles Schilling, 66, of Ferdinand passed away Thursday, July 10, in Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand.

He was born September 20, 1947 in Ferdinand to Albert E. & Elenora E. (Hildenbrand) Schilling.

Edwin was a member of Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 and Ferdinand VFW. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the Engineer Corps. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Elenora Schilling; brother, Albert David Schilling;  three sisters, Carol Jean Schilling, Susan E. Schilling, and Margaret “Margie” Merkel.

Surviving are three brothers, James “Tex” Schilling, Tom Schilling and wife Sue, both of St. Henry, and Mark Schilling and wife Mary of Fulda; sisters, Joan Beckman and husband Ray of St. Meinrad, Janet Titzer and husband Craig of Elberfeld, Mary Ann Schilling and Karen Schilling both of Ferdinand. nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services 10:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, burial to follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites by Ferdinand American Legion Post 124.

Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. till service time at the church. Becher Funeral Home Ferdinand is in charge of all arrangements.
