Edward “Sparky” Hentrup, 77

Edward “Sparky” Hentrup, age 77 of Jasper, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Friday (June 7, 2013) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Edward was born in Celestine, IN on October 21, 1935 to Edward and Theresa (Thewes) Hentrup. He married Joan Mendel on May 25, 1961 in Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, IN.

He was employed by Forest Products Manufacturing for over 50 years, where he served as a truck driver and worked in shipping and receiving department.

He served in the Indiana National Guard.

He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper and the Precious Blood Men’s Club.

He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and was an avid IU Basketball and Cincinnati Red’s fan.

Funeral services for Edward Hentrup will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday (June 11, 2013) at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, IN, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, IN.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday (June 10, 2013) at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN.
