Edward J. Nigg, 87
Edward J. Nigg, age 87 of Jasper passed away at 08:00 a.m. Thursday (February 9, 2012) in Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born on October 23, 1924 at Dubois, Indiana to Jacob and Louise (Eichmiller) Nigg. He married Betty Gerber on October 29, 1949.
Edward was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the European Theatre. He retired from Briedenbaugh‘s where he had worked in the block plant for over 46 years. He is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church – St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads – V.F.W.Post # 673 and the Jasper Outdoor Recreation Association.

Four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren,five great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are two brothers; Bill and Paul Nigg . Four sisters, . Anna Kalb, Millie Burnham, Pauline Lukerman and Catherine Becker.
Funeral services for Edward Nigg will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (February 13, 2012) in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. V.F.W. Post # 673 will conduct military grave side rites.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center in Jasper or to a favorite charity.
