Edward H. Oser, 89, of Ferdinand, passed away, Sunday, January 7, 2018, at his home.

Edward was born on June 7, 1928, in Ferdinand to Edward and Margaret (Nord) Oser. He was raised by John Sr. and Augusta (Oser) Mohr. He married Francille Krampe on November 11, 1947, in Ferdinand. She preceded him in death on December 19, 1969. Edward married Martha Hedinger Lee on September 3, 1977, in St. Meinrad.

Edward was retired from Sisters of Saint Benedict in Ferdinand. He was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand. Edward belonged to the Sons of The American Legion Post 124 and was a 30 year member of the Ferdinand Volunteer Fire department. Edward enjoyed traveling and spending time visiting with family.

Edward is survived by his wife, Martha Oser; six sons, Gary (Louann) Oser of St. Anthony, Mark (Joann) Oser of Ferdinand, Glenn (Carol) Oser of Boonville, Robert “Sonny” Lee of Lamar, Donald Lee of Boonville and David Lee of St. Meinrad; two daughters, June (Tom) Berg of St. Anthony and Becky (Bill) Hasenour of Ferdinand; six brothers, John Jr. (Marge) Mohr, Ron (Doris) Mohr, Paul (Becky) Mohr all of Ferdinand, Dick (Elaine) Mohr of Mariah Hill, Leroy (Marlene) Oser of Siberia and George (Henrietta) Oser of Mariah Hill; six sisters, Vita (Kenny) Voegerl, Frances “Bootsie” (Jerome) Brinkman  all of Ferdinand, Dolly (Jim) Harris and Rita Buechlein all of Huntingburg, Virginia (Sheldon) Hubert of Tell City and Rosemary Downing of Russelville, OH; twelve grandchildren, David Nord, Jeff Berg, Melissa Knust, Jill Schipp, Christine Oser Ginn, Laura Greemore, Brandy Gansman, Amanda Winternheimer, Jennifer Clark, Laura Lee, Denise Lee and Elizabeth Lee; 18 grea- grandchildren also survive.

Edward was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Donald Oser; five brothers, Bob and Bill Mohr, Jim, Bob and Walter Oser; three sisters, Henrietta Bartell, Margie Martin and Dolores Carnahan.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
