Edward H. Kahle, 92

Edward H. Kahle, age 92, of Huntingburg, passed away at 8:20 p.m., Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at The Waters of Huntingburg.
He was born March 6, 1921 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Harvey W. and Amanda M. (Hunefeld) Kahle.
He married Rose L. Sakel on November 27, 1954 at the Methodist Church in Huntingburg.
Ed graduated from Holland High School in 1939 and was a lifelong farmer. He was a Hoosier Homestead farmer and did custom baling, combining, and silage harvesting. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland where he held numerous offices including council president, secretary and cemetery committee member. He was a Sunday school teacher and member of the church choir for over fifty years. Ed enjoyed woodworking in his spare time and playing cards with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Rose L. Kahle of Huntingburg; two sons and two daughter-in-laws, John (spouse: Linda) Kahle of Jasper and Thomas (spouse: Regina) Kahle of Huntingburg; two sisters, Louanna Beckley of Lynnville, IN, and Florence Hunter of Holland; by six grandchildren: Ben Kahle, Phillip Kahle, Meredith Fulda, Caroline Kahle, Daniel Kahle and Emma Kahle; and two step-grandchildren: Eric Waltz and Hilary Fleck.
Funeral services for Edward H. Kahle will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland with burial to follow at St. Paul Cemetery (Holland). Pastor Debbie Roe will officiate at the services.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday; and also at the Church from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Saturday, prior to the funeral.
