Edna Corrine Clark, 101, Jasper

Edna Corrine Clark, 101, of Jasper, passed away surrounded by family at 4:20 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Legacy Living in Jasper, Indiana. 

Corrine was born on July 23, 1923, in Daviess County, Indiana, to John and Audrey (Humerickhouse) Parsons. 

She married Ray Clark on March 12, 1943, in Switz City, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1984.

She was a 1941 graduate of Montgomery High School.

She was a receptionist for Dr. Thomas Gootee and a receptionist and dental assistant for Dr. John Bies. In her spare time, she was a seamstress, doing numerous alterations.

She was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Washington, Indiana, where she had previously taught Sunday School. More recently she attended Trinity United Church of Christ. She was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital for 33 years.

Corrine enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, crocheting, and gardening. She also loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Pat (Jim) Thyen of Jasper and Rita (Bud) Hauser of Centerville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Selena (Kurt) Vonderheide, Andy (Kelli) Huff, Amber (Chris) Ray, Joe (Sandhya) Hauser, and Jessica (Chris) Amsbary; six great grandchildren, Elijah, Max and Abram Balbach, Maggie Amsbary, and Evan (Shay) Vonderheide and Mira (JohnPaul “JP”) Luke; three brothers, William (Judy) Parsons of Washington, Lloyd Parsons of Odon, and Fred Parsons of Odon; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are one sister, Helen Louise Parsons; and two brothers, James and Robert Parsons.

The family would like to thank Dr. Frank Hopkins, Legacy Living in Jasper, Heart-to-Heart Hospice and Home Instead for their loving care.

A private graveside service for Edna Corrine Clark will be held at Bethany Cemetery in Washington, Indiana.
