Ed Cole running for County Council District 1 seat
Ed Cole announced his candidacy for the Dubois County Council District 1 seat on the Democratic ticket.

Cole was the President of Dubois Strong, the countywide economic development organization, for ten years from 2014 to 2024. The expansion of local housing options, workforce attraction, improved access to childcare, and the organization’s small-business loan program were cornerstones of his work.
As the District 1 representative, Cole states he will focus on serving the county’s citizens in a new way while drawing on his past experiences.
He has 22 years of experience and fiscal responsibility in the economic development field, including annual fundraising campaigns, budget preparation, financial management, grant administration and project management.
“Roughly half of our annual funding at Dubois Strong was from grants from Dubois County government and the five incorporated municipalities; Jasper, Huntingburg, Ferdinand, Holland and Birdseye. The staff and I took great care to be good stewards of the local tax dollars given to the organization,” Cole said. “The other fifty percent of our funds came from private business and industry donor support. We received and counted on contributions from Dubois County’s largest corporations as well as numerous small business owners.”
He was recognized as the Business Person of the Year by the Dubois County Chamber of Commerce in 2023.
The General Election is this November.
