Early voting continues; Final day scheduled for May 4
Early voting for the upcoming primary election is progressing successfully, with strong participation from voters across the county. Election officials remind residents that early voting will conclude on Monday, May 4, 2026, at noon.
“We’ve had a very successful early voting period so far and remain fully prepared to assist voters as they come in to cast their ballots,” said Dubois County Clerk Amy Kippenbrock.
Kippenbrock reported that as of the end of Tuesday, 2,668 voters had voted in person and 112 ballots had been returned by mail. She estimated they were on target to average about 25 percent voter turnout for the 2026 primary.
In the 2024 primary, 7,354 registered voters turned out, or 24.64 percent of the 29,843 registered voters then.
Additional weekday early voting opportunities will be available at the 35th Street Fire Station, which will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on April 29, April 30, and May 1.
