Due to large turnout, Election Board adds extra hours, days for early voting
Dubois County Clerk, Amy Kippenbrock reported that 1,996 residents have voted in-person in the first week of early voting in Dubois County.
In response to the large turnout, the Election Board met and approved more early voting hour options.
On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, the Courthouse Annex we will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
“The Jasper Downtown Chowdown event is open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and we thought we should be open to let people come in to vote as well. Come eat, shop and vote,” Kippenbrock stated in a press release.
In addition, the Election Board decided to begin voting at the 35th Street Fire Station in Jasper a week early. The fire station will now be open starting October 19. Dates and times for that location are October 19 to October 31 to Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (no voting on Sundays).
Any registered voter in Dubois County may vote at any early voting location.
On Election Day, Nov. 3, 2020, registered voters must cast their vote at their precinct specific location.
