Dubois woman faces a dozen charges involving burglary and check fraud

Dubois County deputies arrested a woman Friday suspected of burglarizing a home in the Dubois area several times between November 2017 and March 2018.

Deputies were assisting the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department on a medical run to the 9900 block of North Hickory Grove Road when they noticed the suspect in the string of break-ins deputies have been investigating observing the first responders.

Chasity M. Jones, 36, of 9901 N. Hickory Grove Road, is a key suspect in the string of break-ins that occurred at a Hickory Grove residence in which more than $3,000 worth of items were stolen, according to police.

Jones was also wanted on a civil warrant.

Jones was taken into custody and transported to the Dubois County Security Center for further investigation.

Deputies allege Jones admitted to multiple break-ins at the residence in question and was found to have attempted to pass a stolen check.

Authorities booked Jones into the Dubois County Security Center after charging her with six Level 4 felony counts of burglary, six Level 6 felony counts of theft and one misdemeanor count of check fraud.
