Dubois Ruritan gears up for 23rd annual Septemberfest

The Dubois Ruritan organization is preparing to host its 23rd Annual Septemberfest on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Dubois Community Park, promising a full day of family entertainment, local food, and community celebration.

The festival kicks off early with the Dubois FCA 5K Walk/Run at 8 a.m., setting an active tone for the day’s festivities. By 2 p.m., the Beer Garden and Family Garden will open their doors, serving up sandwiches and drinks while kids enjoy games and inflatables throughout the afternoon.

Entertainment highlights include the Little Miss and Mister Septemberfest competition at 3 p.m., followed by a Court of Honor ceremony with Troop #170.

The Dubois Ruritan organization will also commemorate its 40-year milestone during the afternoon program.

Food lovers can look forward to a hearty dinner menu starting at 4 p.m., featuring fried chicken and Arnie’s Famous pork steak dinners. Festival-goers can also indulge in classic fair treats, including cotton candy and slushies, the Scouts’ famous cobbler, loaded fries, lemonade shake-ups, grilled Mexican corn, and ice cream cookies.

The day concludes with a themed basket drawing at 9 p.m., giving attendees one final chance to win prizes while supporting the local Ruritan organization.

Musical entertainment will span the evening hours, with the First + Main Band performing from 4 to 8 p.m., followed by Hoosier Daddy taking the stage from 8 to 11 p.m. Families with young children won’t want to miss the Kiddie Tractor Pull at 4:30 p.m., with registration beginning at 4 p.m.

Organizers emphasize that there is no cover charge for the event, making it accessible for families throughout the community. The festival is made possible through the generous support of local sponsors including Kimball International, Hoosier Hills Credit Union, Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company, Dubois County Pro & Supply, and Stormbirds.
