Dubois County Sheriff’s Office investigating fatal crash

The Dubois County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 49-year-old Kenneth P. Leamons of English.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash near Birdseye that took place early Monday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to the crash on State Road 64 about 300 feet west of Schnellville Road at about 3:46 a.m. on Sept. 2.

Deputies determined that a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was westbound on State Road 64 when it veered off the north side of the road for an unknown reason. The Camaro traveled about 600 feet, rolling over, before coming to rest upside down on an embankment.

A male individual was transported by ambulance from the scene to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, said police.

The crash is still under investigation.
