Dubois County POW/MIA Monument unveiled

Samuel Osterman unveils the new POW/MIA Monument at the Courthouse. Osterman completed the project to earn his Eagle Scout.

Future Eagle Scout Samuel Osterman was joined by his family in revealing the recently completed POW/MIA Monument installed at the Dubois County Courthouse.

The monument, a granite obelisk nearly seven feet tall on a concrete base, features the POW/MIA symbol and a similar inscription as the National Memorial.

An official presentation for the public will be scheduled.

Samuel’s grandfather, Joe Osterman, served in the US Marine Corps and helped design the monument. He traveled from Wisconsin to attend the installation and unveiling.
Samuel poses with the Jasper VFW Post Honor Guard after the unveiling. He chose the VFW Post as the beneficiary of the project.
