Dubois County Museum seeking hunters’ photos

Would you like the chance to have a photo of your prized hunting experience displayed in a special exhibit?
The Dubois County Museum is encouraging Dubois County area hunters, trappers, and fishermen to donate a 5-by-7 photo of themselves, or with friends, of their catch to be used on the planned Local Sportsman wall to be located in the new Safari Room at the museum.
The photo may be in color or black and white.
Tom Kellams, museum coordinator of the new exhibit to open in 2016, is looking to complete the room with these pictures. He hopes to display photos of men and women, boys and girls with local animals such as deer, turtle, fox, coyote, wild turkey, fish and animal hides just to name a few.
Pictures may be dropped off at the museum at 2704 N. Newton, in Jasper, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Please have a written copy naming all in the picture and where the animals were taken and when.
Because the information will be printed on an engraved mounted plate under the picture and all will be in similar frames, a $10 donation is needed. In addition to photos submitted the Dubois County Sportsman Club will be supplying many photos from their club of past and present members.
The room is open for viewing and Mr. Kellams is making plans for a grand opening possibly in February or March.
