Dubois County Museum celebrates 25th anniversary on August 25 with Celebration Singers concert
The public is invited to enjoy an afternoon at the Dubois County Museum on Sunday, August 25, from 1-4:00 p.m. to celebrate the past 25 years and wish well to future years.
The museum will be serving cake and ice cream beginning at 1:00 p.m. Volunteers will also be on hand with games and prizes. Facepainting by Ruth will also be on hand.
At 2:00 p.m., the museum welcomes the Celebration Singers. They will share their beautiful music and share a special program.
The Celebration Singers were formed in early 2002 as a response to the Sep 11th, 2001 attacks. The intent was to share a sense of American patriotism and pride. The cantata I Love America was performed at six locations across Dubois County in 2002. The singers have come from Dubois, Pike, Spencer, Martin and Crawford Counties. In our early years they had about 100 singers. In recent years, they have averaged about 60 active singers.
They continue to share FREE concerts at various venues across Southern Indiana each year, celebrating God and country in song. Beginning in 2004, they added Christmas concerts in addition to our summer performances. In January 2013, the Celebration Singers were honored to be invited to participate in the Mike Pence and Sue Ellspermann Inaugural Praise and Worship Service at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis. Due to Covid restrictions, they did not perform any concerts in 2020 or 2021, but were very glad to return to full swing in 2022. Other than those two Covid years, they have been going strong every year since 2002.
They are very pleased to participate in the Dubois County Museum’s 25th anniversary celebration.
They will share our program of Patriotic and Spiritual music to celebrate God and Country with all of you here!
