Dubois County Museum announces Festival of Trees winners

The Dubois County Museum announced the winners of the 2025 Festival of Trees Tree Decorating contest.

The 50,000-square-foot exhibit area was accented with 52 trees this year. The trees will remain on display until January 10. Volunteers will come in beginning on January 11 to take down their tree.

The trees included one from each Dubois County community showcasing their unique attributes. These sixteen trees were displayed along the mural walls. This year a total of 17 non-profits/service clubs had come forward to participate. Two trees were decorated by professional florists. The remainder of the trees were decorated by volunteers to the museum who enjoy decorating for the Christmas season. Program coordinators include Clara Fromme, Kathy Bachman, Marcia Werne, and Joe Schoenbachler.

The museum thanks all who participated this year.

There was a first-place tie between the Ferdinand Flower Shop (the large tree with pink and white flowers) and Ireland (cameras, slides, photos) decorated by Angie Rudolph. Third place went to Celestine’s Salute to Volunteer Firemen, decorated by Ericka Verkamp. This year, the organizers also announced additional winners. Fourth place went to ALASI and their butterfly tree. Fifth place was awarded to the Military Tree decorated by Linda Mason and Margaret Popp.
