Dubois County Museum announces ‘1st Annual Photo Contest’

The Dubois County Museum, located at 2704 N Newton Street in Jasper, is inviting amateur photographers to participate in its First Annual Photo Contest. 

The contest theme is “Your Favorite Photo,” which could include any subject: flowers, animals, landscapes, macro, etc., in color or black and white. The photo must be taken by you. It does not have to be a picture from this year. Minor editing is allowed, such as cropping, sharpness, and color.

There are three entry categories: Children 5 to 12, Teenagers 13 to 19, and Adults 20 and over. 

You may submit up to three photos. There is a $5 entry fee per photo.

Photos must be matted or framed, 8 X 10 photo size (portrait or landscape) and brought to the Museum or mailed to 2704 N. Newton Street, Jasper, IN  47546, by the deadline.

Submit your entries from April 15 to April 30, 2024. 

Photos will be on display for viewing and public voting from May 1 through June 2, 2024. The public is encouraged to participate in the voting.

Cash prizes will be awarded in each category. There will also be a special award judged by local photographers. Winners will be announced June 3, 2024, via Facebook.

After the contest, all photos may be picked up at the Museum between June 4 and June 15.
