Dubois County Humane Society offering free spay/neuter surgeries

The Dubois County Humane Society was recently awarded a grant by the Smithville Charitable Foundation to provide free spay/neuter surgeries and rabies vaccines for dogs and cats belonging to income-eligible residents of Dubois County. 

Eligible residents must be able to provide proof of one of the following: Hoosier Works- Food Stamps, Energy Assistance Program, Healthy Indiana Plan, Major VA Disability, Medicaid, Public School Free Lunch Program, Section 8 Housing, Social Security Disability, WIC, Supplemental Security Income. 

These surgeries will occur the week of December 30th, 2024, through January 3rd, 2025, and pets must be at least four months of age. There are 60 spaces available, and they are allotted first come, first serve.
