Dubois County GOP calls caucus to fill County Council District 2 seat
The Dubois County Republican Party has scheduled a caucus to fill the upcoming vacancy in the office of Dubois County Council, District 2, following the resignation of Councilman Ryan Craig.
Craig was selected to finish Jasper Mayor Dean Vonderheide’s term in a recent caucus.
The caucus for county council will take place on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Jasper Train Depot, 201 Mill St., Jasper.
The caucus is being convened by Dubois County Republican Party Chair Amy L. Kippenbrock in accordance with the Rules of the Indiana Republican Party to fill the mayoral vacancy.
Republicans interested in being considered as a candidate must reside in the Dubois County Council, District 2 precincts. That district consists of Bainbridge 2E, 2W, 3E, 4N, 4S, 5S, and 6S. Candidates must complete forms CEB-5 and CAN-12. Completed forms must be submitted to Party Chair Amy L. Kippenbrock and filed no later than 72 hours prior to the caucus, or by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

The caucus meeting will be closed to the public. Members of the media are invited to attend.
