Dubois County Flight Services seeking partnership with Huntingburg Airport
Huntingburg Airport received a proposal from Dubois County Flight Services seeking a partnership to jointly provide fixed-base operator (FBO) services.
Dubois County Flight Services announced earlier this year they would no longer be able to operate as the fixed-base operator at the airport. They would continue to provide other services but at the end of their contract in March of 2013 they did not plan on renewing [ilink url=”https://duboiscountyfreepress.com/dubois-county-flight-services-could-cease-operations-in-2013/”%5DStory here[/ilink].
The proposal put before the airport authority on Monday came as a result of several tax payers urging DCFS to reconsider their current position.
A letter presented to the airport authority proposes a partnership between DCFS and the Airport Board in the sharing of costs for FBO services.
Airport Manager Travis McQueen says that he has not had time to fully investigate the proposal, but the Airport must be careful in entering into contractual agreements that can jeopardize their ability to get grant money for projects from the FAA.
Wagner in his letter to the board says, “whether or not we continue as a fixed base operator, we will continue to operate other aspects of our business, which include corporate aviation, FAA certified aircraft repair station, aircraft leasing and management, and aircraft brokering and sales. We have tried to provide a very professional FBO for the Dubois County Air Board and hope this proposal shows our continued good faith.”
The proposal will be investigated by McQueen and the board and a decision will be made on their findings in future meetings.
