Dubois County Democrats holding Candidate Support Rally in Jasper ahead of early voting

Jasper — The Dubois County Democratic Party invites community members, supporters, and voters to a candidate support rally on Sunday, October 4, at 1 Courthouse Square in front of the Dubois County Courthouse. The event begins at 4:00 PM ET and will run through 6:00 PM ET.

Designed to rally local support and energize voters ahead of early in-person voting on October 6, the afternoon will feature speeches from local Democratic candidates from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by an hour of community networking and fellowship.

“This rally is an opportunity to come together, support our dedicated candidates, and kick off the final stretch of the election season with pride and momentum,” party organizers said. “We want to show Dubois County the strength, passion, and positive vision of our party as we encourage everyone to get out and vote.”

We get together to celebrate and support our candidatesacross local, state, and federal races, including:

  • U.S. House of Representatives (IN-08): Mary Allen
  • Indiana State Senate (District 48): Brad Hochgesang
  • Indiana State Representative (District 63): Tiffanie Arthur
  • Indiana State Representative (District 74): Lena Goffinet
  • Dubois County Circuit Court Judge: Nathan Verkamp
  • Dubois County Council: Ed Cole (District 1), Dan Kreilein (District 2)
  • Local Township Representatives: Nancy Hall (Ferdinand Township Trustee), Lisa Niehaus (Jackson Township Board), and other township candidate leaders.

Positive Poster Contest

As part of the event, the party is hosting a positive poster contest to highlight aspirational messaging and creativity. Two prizes will be awarded for the best original signs.

Poster Submission Guidelines:

  • Messaging: Keep text concise (6 words or fewer) and focused on positive, aspirational themes. Negative or critical messaging will not qualify.
  • Imagery & Symbols: Participants are encouraged to incorporate artwork and symbols of unity, care, or stopping harm (such as hearts, the Earth, or hands).
  • Format: Double-sided design using colorful markers or paint. Cardstock or sturdy cardboard is preferred.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, their positive contest signs, and enthusiasm for local candidates.
