Dubois County Covid-19 case total reaches 85; contact tracing to begin

Saturday, the Dubois County Health Department confirmed eight more positive cases of Covid-19, bringing the countywide total to 85 cases.

According to the health department, 30 of the 85 cases have reported they are out of isolation and have recovered. There have been two deaths.

According to the county health department, the Indiana State Department of Health will start assisting this weekend with case investigations and contact tracing of positive tests in Dubois County residents. Positive cases and their close contacts will be contacted by Maximus Contact Tracing Call Center. Maximus Contact Tracing Call Center will perform all positive COVID-19 investigations in every Indiana county.

“We all know there are many telephone scams that go around and want to reassure that if you receive an automated message from ISDH, it is legitimate,” the health department stated in a press release. “Individuals could receive a text, voicemail, or an email from ISDH prompting them to contact ISDH regarding ‘an urgent public health matter.’

The health department added, you can help stop the spread of this highly contagious virus: Wash your hands often and cover your cough. Stay home if you are sick and avoid contact with people who are sick. Maintain social distancing. Continue to wear a cloth face covering when out in public.
